Reflection
When I first evaluated the assignment, I understood it would be extremely difficult and almost impossible to come up with the list of twenty reasonable “bugs” on the spot. However, I did think it would be relatively easy to come up with the list over the time span of about a week. I was proven wrong. I thought I would be able to keep pointing out different inconveniences and annoyances throughout the week, but days kept passing by and I was still at the beginning of my list. I realized that it is hard to consistently have the mindset to look out for and notice specific things that bug you. When you have a busy day, there are lots of things running through your mind and it is difficult to observe and analyze the opportunities.
I find your bugs very interesting because they are outside of the box. One of the bugs that I can relate to most is sleeping too much and getting more tired. I struggle with this bug because I would think that the more sleep I get the more energy I will have but, if I get over 8 hours of sleep it actually makes me more tired. Also, we wrote down the same bug for the weights being out of order. This annoys me because I have to waste my time searching for the right weights. One way you could improve on this assignment is elaborating more and giving more detail.
ReplyDeleteDear Bram,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your post! I would say I agree most with your point on "running out of good music." I am constantly making playlists and then listening to all of them constantly every day. Although the playlists are so good in the beginning, I become sick of the same songs really quick. Its definitely a struggle to find good music constantly so I would agree a lot with your point. Thank you for the post :D
Hi, there! I have totally run into some of the bugs you’ve mentioned on your list! The one about your phone charger braking is just too relatable. It’s so aggravating to buy a charger for $10 on Amazon only for it to start failing a couple months later. The worst is when you don’t realize it’s broken until the morning after you left it on to charge throughout the night and now have a dead phone and no way to charge it! Your possible reason for why this happens is interesting and if true, I would think should fall under unethical business practices.
ReplyDeleteHi Bram,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that it was very difficult at times to get into the correct mindset to notice bugs, particularly those that present good opportunities for entrepreneurship. Two of yours stood out to me in particular. The first was your point about phone chargers. The planned obsolescence that seems to have become the norm in products today is infuriating, hopefully there will come a time when people see that as an opportunity, and choose to better the user experience rather than how much money they make. The other one that stood out to me was about picking scabs before they heal. That is something that I've also struggled with at times, and seems like an opportune area to develop some sort of product that accelerates healing and prevents those sort of behaviors, something like a bandage that actively heals.
