1. The opportunity to provide music listeners with access to a wide range of unavailable music.
2. I would sell a service that offers the average range of music but offers the unavailable songs for additional charges. People used to pay for each album and record individually. People who love music would not have a problem paying a low fee for music that they love. The songs would be easily accessible and saved in the library with the rest of their music. People who love music would jump on the opportunity to listen to all the songs of their favorite artists.
Dear Bram,
ReplyDeleteI love music this idea really popped out at me! I do think it is unfair that so many apps will charge one extra for different type of music. With your idea I do believe the community of music lovers will be happy with a wider range of unavailable music. Furthermore, I am interested in knowing how you would do this, making an app would be really dope :D
Hi, there! I think your solution could make for a very interesting service. I could see people turning to this app when they can’t find their favorite song on iTunes or Spotify. I wonder how the pricing would work though considering you’d have to work out leasing agreements with the musicians and their labels. Also offering a free version with ads, like iHeartRadio, could help with those costs and might entice more users.
ReplyDeleteHi Bram,
ReplyDeleteI really like the concept for your app, though I have a couple of questions about it as well. What would the extra funds that listeners pay for additional artists go towards? Perhaps these funds, like what I mentioned in my other comment, could go towards paying these smaller artists directly for their work, and for the license to distribute it on the platform. This could function very much like bandcamp does today, a platform on which small artists can sell their albums to niche audiences, and those audiences can compile their purchased music in one place. You've got an excellent idea here.
