9A- Testing the Hypothesis, Part 2

My opportunity was music listeners not having access to a full variety of songs provided by their music streaming service. The second round of interviews really helped me gather a lot of information about my opportunity. Talking to people who had the need was very beneficial, but discussing the opportunity with people who are in that category but do not have the need was even more useful. I learned that there are lots of people who do not have any problems with there music streaming service because they feel like they have access to all the music they want. My opportunity is to give music lovers access to all songs. Some people think there is a need to allow listeners to access music for low prices. My concern is not the prices. I feel like avid music lovers will pay for their favorite music as long as it is not unreasonable. The outsiders need is to listen to music for a cheaper price and the need for my opportunity is to give people a wider range of access to music.

  1. Abraham,

I feel that there are people who would want access to all music but how would this physically be possible. There are different streaming services out there that differentiate a product from another. I could not see how we could allow individuals to be able to have all of the music in one streaming service when artists have sponsorships and things that only allow them to put it out on certain platforms.

  2. Hi there! As a frequent music listener, I think your service is very interesting and helpful. I think it could also provide a unique opportunity for lesser known artists to be discovered by a larger audience. If an artist isn’t getting frequent radio play or enough downloads to make it on a music chart, it can be difficult for the artist to be discovered by new listeners or even rediscovered by past listeners. This service could help people find a song that they may have forgotten who sang it and thus, helping the artist too.

  3. Dear Abraham,
As someone who adores music I would like the be the first to say that your idea is amazing. There really is a need in society, at least in my world. More often then not I become stressed at the fact that I cannot have all my music in one place. With Spotify, apple music, and SoundCloud there are to many competitive industries. This leads to unsharable playlists and friends who are on different applications. Ultimately, I do agree that there has to be cheaper music as well. Overall, amazing job Abraham !

  4. Hi Bram,
I really like the opportunity you have found, it's interesting to me in large part because it seems like a particularly challenging one to pursue. Given the sheer number of streaming services available to consumers, including Spotify, Pandora, Apple Music, and others, it seems like it would be both difficult and rewarding to find a way to break into this market with a new and innovative idea to fulfill peoples' needs. Based on this round of interviews, do you have any ideas of ways in which you might separate this product from the rest of the streaming services besides the increased music variety? I think this opportunity you have found is so cool because among avid music listeners who really want that extra variety, there are many other tools that they would surely appreciate in a music streaming platform. Overall, a really cool opportunity and comprehensive post.
