11A – Idea Napkin No. 1

1) My name is Abraham Osman and I was born and raised in Miami Florida. I have been intrigued by music and the emotions it brings out in people since a very young age. I've always appreciated how music has the ability to instill a wide range of feelings within the listener. Sometimes it can get you out of bed and on the other hand, it can help you go to sleep. I want to give music lovers the ability to have access to an extremely wide scope of music. Running a business that is centered around music would drive me to work hard.
2) The product would be a subscription for a service that gives you access to multiple music streaming services. It would be an application that combines the platforms of existing services and gives a commission to the company. It would be a reduced price that is cheaper than buying each subscription separately.
3) The target customer base for this product are people of ages 15-40 who are avid music listeners. Lots of people in that age range access their music through online streaming.
4) People who love music compile libraries of songs over long periods of time and take note of new songs that they enjoy. Those new songs are not always offered by their music streaming provider. If they want access to songs that they enjoy they could purchase this product to expand the range of music they have access to.
5) This product is unique because it will allow customers to access songs that they have not been able to conveniently listen to. After conducting interviews I realized that lots of people feel their music streaming service is limited. They will not have that problem anymore.
Throughout these assignments, I've learned a lot about my business concept. Some of the ideas seem extremely solid and feasible while others need some more time to be perfected. Overall I believe this idea has the potential to work out and be successful. It takes time to put all the pieces of an idea together but they are starting to fall into place.

5) What are your core competencies? What sets you apart from everyone else? Also: what do you have that nobody else has?
In addition to these five elements, please spend a paragraph evaluating whether you believe these elements fit together or whether there are aspects of your business concept that are weaker / out-of-joint with the others.

    Hi Bram,
I think it is really cool how much your love of music drives your desire to succeed in meeting the need you've found. I know with my own experiences in this class, many of the skills I have picked up through my major are not particularly applicable to running a business. I do not know what your major is, but I think it is really neat that you have found something that not only seems like it would be immensely successful, but also something that you enjoy doing. One of my core beliefs throughout college has been the idea that I need to enjoy what I end up doing for a living, and I think it is very cool that you have found such an area.
